Earlier this year, before Apple officially announced theiPhone X, various rumors had it that the company would launch a gold version of the new handset. As you likely know, that didn’t happen, so the iPhone X currently comes in only two color variants: silver and space gray. Meanwhile, both the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus (announced at the same time with the iPhone X)have gold versions, in addition to space gray and silver ones.
So why wouldn’t the iPhone X come in gold, too? According to a previous report, well-informed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple had encountered unspecified production issues related to the gold iPhone X
. But he suggested that the gold model could be released later than the other two color variants.
While we can’t possibly tell if a gold iPhone X will ever hit the market, we want to know what you think about this. Would the near-bezel-less handset look better in gold, and, if so, should Apple make efforts to launch this color variant sometime soon? P.S.: The video embedded above shows three early iPhone X mockups, including a gold model – though that’s a copper gold color, which is darker than the gold seen on the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
