Samsung reportedly halts rollout of Android 8.0 Oreo

Last week, we saw thatSamsung was finally beginning to roll out
theAndroid 8.0 Oreo update to owners of the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. The release was taking place in limited regions, as it was only available in certain countries (not including the US).

However, a new report
is claiming that Samsung is in fact, halted the continued rollout of Android Oreo for unknown reasons. The company has completely removed the specific firmware files from its servers while giving no reason as to why.

If you have already received the update, it should be business as usual, meaning that you won’t need to downgrade the software. This is, of course, unless Samsung issues an official statement as to what exactly is going on.

SamMobile

is reporting that Samsung is already working on a new version of Oreo for the Galaxy S8. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait months for the update to begin rolling out to more countries including those of us here in the States.

We’ll be sure to keep everyone updated as possible reasons behind this strange and abrupt move from Samsung.
