Xiaomi, the much loved Chinese company has tasted a lot of success in India after its launch of affordable products across ranges in the local market. The company is finally gearing up for the launch of its newest successor in its Note series, the Note 5. The Note 5 is expected to carry traits from its current sibling, theNote 4 and build upon it. Here’s what the round of rumours has churned out.
In terms of viewing experience, the Redmi Note 5 will rock a 5.5-inch Full HD display similar to theRedmi Note 4, which would mean a crisp and vivid viewing experience. The raw processing power should see an upgrade to a Qualcomm Snapdragon 626/630 from the 625 on the Note 4. This upgrade should see an increase in functionality and improve the overall battery life. The RAM vs internal storage variations should likely remain unchanged with a3GB and32GB combination alongside a4GB and64GB one.
The device should run the latest Android 7.1.1 out of the box with the yet to release MIUI 9 overlain to add further functionality. For the shutterbugs and its selfie-loving customers, Xiaomi is expected to feature a16MP rear facing camera and a 13MP front facing camera.
For a major change, the Redmi Note 5 is expected to change the orientation of its fingerprint reader from the rear to the front and integrate it into its home button. This design language is similar to what its top end models sport. To company is expected to make a step down in terms of battery offering in the Note 5 from 4100mAh to 3790mAh. This, however, should be compensated by the more efficient processor and the Doze feature offered by the latestAndroid Nougat. The device will also support Quick Charge 4.0.
